Therefore your workstation desk needs to be situated somewhere where you feel motivated and are happy to work from.

The next thing that you should do would be to get all of the other relevant things that you are going to need at your workstation. Most obvious of these will be your computer which can either be a desktop or laptop, as well as a chair in which to sit in. It is important that the chair you get is comfortable and allows you to sit in a position that will not create some sort of repetitive strain injury to occur.

If you wish you can also put some pictures or posters or anything else up on the walls in order to keep you motivated. Depending on what your motivation is, it is always a good idea to have a visual representation of your motivation at all times. It might well be that you are motivated to work by your family, and therefore having pictures of your family at your desk or on your walls is a good idea.

Once you have set up this idea working environment, it will then be time to build the idea of schedule to work to. The wonderful thing of working for yourself from home is the fact that you are able to set up your own working hours. These can work around your personal life, but it is crucial that you set a schedule that you can keep to and that will maximize your working efforts.
