For excellent photoshop tutorial check out tutvid.com. It not only goes through some of the basics that you need to know, but really cool techniques to enhance your images very easily. I also recommend checking out their site for anything to do with web design using dreamweaver or cs4, I used them a while back to get to speed to with the changes in CS4.
